As part of the manifestation marking the 92nd anniversary of the birth of Agostinho Neto, on September 13th the Embassy participated at the ’International Gastronomy Exhibition’ in Katete, the birthplace of the first president of Angola.

The exhibition was opened by the president of the ‘Agostinho Neto’ Foundation, Maria Eugenia Neto, who visited the stands, acquainting herself through brief conversation with the specifics of the national cuisines of the countries taking part in the exhibition.

The Embassy staff prepared traditional Serbian meals, and served them at our stand accompanied by Serbian distilled beverages. The presentation and tasting of our meals rose interest among Angolan visitors, inquiring about Serbian national cuisine and other information regarding the Republic of Serbia.

During the exhibition, Ambassador Dragan Marković gave a short interview for Angolan national television stressing the decades-long frienship and close ties of the two nations, and pointed out the favourable prospects of further development of cooperation between Serbia and Angola.
